Walking Path

Introduction

The Kings Point Golf and Country Club community, comprising over 10,000 residents, currently faces a critical safety issue due to the absence of sidewalks. Residents are currently forced to walk in street traffic, putting them at unnecessary risk. This proposal outlines a cost-effective solution that not only enhances safety but also promotes community well-being by adding ground level solar lights to the PAR 3 and Executive golf courses’ cart paths.

Proposal Overview

We propose to install solar-powered lights along the existing golf cart paths of the PAR 3 and Executive golf courses. This initiative aims to convert these paths into safe walking areas for residents during the hours when the courses are not in use. The installation of ground-mounted solar lights will illuminate the paths, enhancing visibility and safety while maintaining the natural aesthetic of the golf courses.

Benefits

1. Safety Enhancement: Illuminating the cart paths will provide a safe walking environment, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and injuries associated with walking in street traffic.

2. Community Engagement: Encouraging residents to utilize the golf paths for walking will promote a more active lifestyle and foster greater community interaction during evening hours.

3. Environmental Impact: Utilizing solar-powered lights aligns with sustainability initiatives by reducing energy consumption and minimizing the carbon footprint of our community.

4. Cost-Effectiveness: The limited investment required for the installation of solar lights represents a small fraction of the value gained from a safe walking environment. With the potential of reducing liability insurance and increased property values associated with enhanced community safety, the project makes financial sense.

Implementation Plan

1. Site Assessment: A thorough evaluation of the PAR 3 and Executive golf courses will be conducted to identify the most suitable areas for light installation.

2. Supplier Selection: We will seek bids from reputable solar lighting manufacturers that specialize in outdoor lighting solutions, ensuring high-quality, durable products.

3. Installation Timeline: Upon approval, we anticipate that the project can be completed within a short period of time.

4. Maintenance: A simple maintenance plan will be devised for the upkeep of the solar lights to ensure their longevity and functionality.

Conclusion

We believe that this initiative will significantly contribute to the safety and quality of life for the residents of Kings Point Golf and Country Club. By investing in solar lighting for our golf cart paths, we not only create a safe walking environment but also demonstrate our commitment to the well-being of our community.

We respectfully request the KPRC Board of Directors to consider this proposal to enhance our community’s safety and engage residents in more active lifestyles.
