Security

Kings Point Golf and Country Club prides itself on providing a safe and welcoming environment for its residents. In light of ongoing budget constraints and the necessity for improved safety measures, this proposal seeks to strategically shift our current security expenditures to create a more efficient and effective safety solution that enhances both community security and fiscal responsibility.

Current Expenses Overview

1. Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Contract: $600,000 annually

2. Allied Security for Access Control: $733,000 annually

Total Security-Related Expenses: $1,330,000 annually

Proposed Changes

1. Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Contract

   – Transition from the existing $700,000 contract with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office to their Free Private Community Agreement. This would allow the Sheriff’s Department to patrol within our community without the annual financial burden.

   – Expected Outcome: This change will save the community $600,000 annually while maintaining a level of law enforcement presence.

2. Replacement of Access Control with a high Tech Traffic Control system.

   – Eliminate the $700,000 spent on Allied Security for Access Control. Instead, utilize a company such as TechPro who offers a no up front fee for a state-of-the-art technological traffic control system that includes advanced license plate recognition, automated entry systems, speed and stop sign enforcement with real-time monitoring.

   – This system will improve efficiency, enhance safety, and create a streamlined access point for authorized residents and guests at no cost to the community.

   – Expected Outcome: Improved safety and data collection on traffic patterns, with potential revenue from fines collected for violations being reinvested into community safety initiatives rather than going to Palm Beach County.

3. Utilization of Savings

   – Allocate a portion of the total savings (~$1,330,000) from these changes to hire a security company to provide patrol services (or retain Allied) to offer personnel dedicated to patrolling the 168 individual condominium buildings, club houses and swimming pools 24/7.

   – Expected Outcome: Enhanced security presence throughout the community, providing peace of mind to residents and improving overall safety.

Conclusion

The proposed changes represent a significant opportunity to enhance the safety and security of Kings Point Golf and Country Club while improving our financial standing. By realigning our security expenditures and investing in technology, we can effectively reduce costs and ensure a safer environment for all residents.
